The team has had a good start to the eventing season, with a win for Cavalier Venture in the Open Intermediate at Great Witchingham and all the horses running well at Burnham Market. Badminton bound Hasty Imp put in a classy double clear and star of the team was Evento with a 7th in his first Novice of the season. His aim for this spring is the CCI1* at Ballendenisk with his stable mate Hope over Experience. Evento is a 7 year old that was purchased through DHI sport horses and he is one that myself and his owner Sarah Arrowsmith are very excited about and certainly one to watch.
Sadly the ground is still very wet and the April weather isn’t doing us any favours, with many events having to abandon. It’s a frutstrating time for riders, owners and especially organisers with so much preparation going to waste. We all have a long season ahead of us and the horses wont be so worse off for it, but I do feel for the organisers that put so much time and effort into the events. I expect the team at Badminton are starting to feel nervous, lets all start sun dancing…
